​Drivers Ed Process - Students under 18

• Complete 30 hour class (mtnpro.com/school-classes or online through wresa.org)

• Complete DMV Work Zone Training 

• Complete Vision screening (RIP form mtnpro.com/rip-form) and submit to MPI main office. *Vision screening is provided during in person classes

• Complete 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction with licensed driving school instructor. (Students will be added to the list for driving after class completion)

**Class fee is $65, and is non-refundable and non-transferable, please make sure you can attend all classes in their entirety. There will be no refunds if a student does not attend, drops out or fails. The State mandates students attend 30 hours in entirety to receive credit. School related activities such as tryouts, sports, field trips, concerts, etc. are not excused absences. Only illness and certain family emergencies are excused. Regardless of reason, all absences MUST be made up. Students that are suspended from school are not allowed to attend class and will be marked as a fail. **School related activities such as tryouts, sports, field trips, concerts, etc. are not excused absences.

Adults: Students who are 18 years old, but are still enrolled in a public, private, charter or licensed home school  may still take Driver Education. However, they must go to the DMV and apply for their permit before they can be scheduled for the Behind-the-Wheel lessons. Once the student has been issued a NC permit, they will need to send a copy of the permit to MPI in order to be added to the list for driving

Non NC School Students: Please note, for students that attend a school not based in NC: due to the fact that we receive funding from NC for students enrolled in NC schools, but receive no funding for other states/private/online schools (Penn Foster, Acellus etc.), the fee for the driving portion for those students will be $360. This fee does not apply to students attending a homeschool in NC, they will need to provide their NC official non-public homeschool registration record. Once the student has completed the course, and the Restricted instruction permit (covered in course orientation) is received, you will receive an email with payment options. You may also utilize any commercial driving school, a list is available HERE

8TH Grade Students: Age eligible students may begin the class, however, due to the fact that schools receive funding from North Carolina for students based on high school enrollment, not for students below the 9th grade, students may wait until after July 1 to be added to the driving list.

PAYMENT - payment is due at time of registration, no payments are taken at the school.

****The class fee is processed using PayPal. However, you can select PayPal checkout and choose the option to “Checkout as Guest", or "pay with debit credit" below the login screen, which will allow you to pay by credit card.  You do NOT need to have a PayPal account. Note: if you have a PayPal account, but do not want to pay with that account, you will need to use an email address not associated previously with PayPal in order to use Guest Checkout. Using an email tied to PayPal will require login at checkout

Confirmation Email:  Once you register and pay for the course, you will receive a registration confirmation email from sent-with@powr.io. This email is confirmation student has been accepted to class and will need to report the first day. If you do not see it, be sure to search the address or check your Spam, Trash, Promotions, and any other folders where it might be flagged as junk. If you still do not see it, send the student’s first and last name and school along with the name of the course in an email to info@mtnpro.com.
